Video: Purposeful Minimalism
I am not as far along as these folks, but I do practice my own form of minimalism because I do find that it keeps me organized and allows my brain to feel less cluttered.
Be sure to “FOLLOW” my blog with the links at the bottom of the page (mobile) or on the right-hand side (desktop).
A few of my rules are:
- We must be able to park in the garage at all times
- One item of clothing or toy in the house, one must be donated at the same time
- Purchase and hold things for a week before removing any tags to see if you REALLY want them (or better yet, leave it at the store and think about it for a few days)
A great tip that helps keep these rules flowing is that we have a box in the garage labeled “DONATE” and we just move things into this box until it is full whereupon we take it to a donation center.
Thanks Kim for sharing the video!

FREE REUSABLE Camping List
If you love to camp but are always forgetting to pack something, have I got the thing for you! I came up with a comprehensive camping packing list, that includes links to Amazon for some of my favorite camping products. Make it reusable by slipping it into a sheet protector and then using a dry-erase marker to mark-off items as you pack them! When you get back from your trip, wipe the market off and REUSE.
And you can easily add items to the list by taking it out of the sheet protector and using a pen to add to your list.
To get a PDF of our camping list and favorite camping products, go to TinyURL.com/ELCamping and become an Ember Living VIP (free for a limited time, and you will get access to all future fun gifts that we give out.)
